Borders don’t have to stay flat. These two seaside-inspired designs use the By the Seashore collection and the Embossed Scallop Shell Punch to add texture, dimension and a fun finishing touch to your scrapbook layouts. They’re a great way to bring a little extra coastal charm to beach vacations, days on the water and all your favorite summer memories.

To create these borders, you will need these general products:

Meet Me at the Shore Border

Step 1: Place a piece of baby blue wash designer paper on the 13×13 Cutting Mat, positioning it 1/4″ above the 1″-12″ line. Using the CCS Border Cutting Tools with the Wave edge and red blade, cut a wavy edge. Trim the paper to measure 12″ x 3-1/2″.

Step 2: Repeat with the dark blue designer paper, positioning it directly between the 1″ and 12″ lines on the Cutting Mat. Cut a wavy edge, then trim the paper to measure 12″ x 1-3/4″. Adhere the dark blue strip to the baby blue strip so only the baby blue “ribbon” shows.

Step 3: Cut a strip of seashell designer paper to measure 12″ x 3/4″, then adhere it from the bottom of the base. Place the striped sticker along the seam between the papers, then adhere the knots border sticker on top as shown.

Step 4: Using the Embossed Scallop Shell Punch, punch seven shapes from the pier dock designer paper. Adhere them along the border as shown, using Foam Squares on some for added dimension.

Seashells Border

Step 1: Cut a 3-3/8″ x 12″ strip with blue plaid designer paper for the base. Cut two strips from the anchors designer paper to measure 3/8″ x 12″ and adhere them along the border. Cut a strip from the blue plaid designer paper to measure 2-5/16″ x 12″, then adhere it to the center of the border.

Step 2: Cut a strip from the stripes designer paper to measure 2″ x 12″, then adhere it to the center. Using the Circle Punch, punch two shapes from the blue plaid designer paper and two from the red oars designer paper. Adhere the circles to the striped strip as shown

Step 3: Using the Embossed Scallop Shell Punch, punch two shapes each from Baby Blue Solid Cardstock and Island Waters Solid Cardstock. Adhere the shell shapes to the circles, using Foam Squares for added dimension.
