<\/p>\nToday I want to share with you how I took\u00a0some baking and dressed it up to be an adorable little welcome home gift for my grandmother!<\/p>\n

I absolutely love baking – but the problem is that I’m the only one in my house who really loves eating yummy baked goods. If I bake a cake, it means I’m eating almost a whole cake to my self. So, how I stop myself from eating too many cakes all to myself is I bake cupcakes or split my batter into smaller cake tins so that I can gift some of my baking!<\/p>\n

At the beginning of this week my grandmother came home from the hospital\u00a0and one of my favourite things to do with her is enjoy coffee and cake together. I knew she would appreciate coming home to home-made carrot cake and since I was baking for Thanksgiving anyway, I thought I would make her a little one as well.<\/p>\n

Of course she would have loved the cake just as shown above, but that’s just not the way I’m wired. I needed to include a card or a note along with it. I was working with the Painted Harvest Collection<\/a> and knew right away that the Painted Harvest Variety Mat-Pack<\/a> would work perfectly to make a nice big tag for my cake.<\/p>\n I adhered one of the smaller cards (4″X 6″) that says, “Thankful” in a beautiful script font to one of the larger cards (4-1\/2″X 6-1\/2″).<\/p>\n I also took a strip of Painted Harvest Scrapbook Paper<\/a> measuring 2-1\/2″X12″\u00a0to make a belly band around the cake. I used\u00a0a 1\/2″ strip of the same paper and used it to make a flagged banner across the front of the tag. I embellished the tag with some flowers and rhinestones from the embellishment pack<\/a>.<\/p>\n For the back of the tag I wrote my little message and just adhered a 1\/2″ strip of the coordinating Painted Harvest Scrapbook Paper – and that’s it!<\/p>\n Quick – simple – and super sweet!<\/p>\n Today I want to share with you how I took\u00a0some baking and dressed it up to be an adorable little welcome home gift for my grandmother!
