What makes a card so special? At the end of the day, isn’t it just a piece of paper with some decorations and doodles on it? The history of card making can be traced back to the Victorian era. The Victorian calling card began as simple cards that announced someone’s arrival. There were no decorations and no emotional messages inside \u2014 not exactly something that comes from the heart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But with the advent of new printing technology, things began to change. Cards became more vibrant and decorative and more and more people began to send them for different occasions – an entire industry was born! Eventually, calling cards turned into penny postcards, which became the modern day greeting card. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nowadays, cards are used in all sorts of ways for all sorts of occasions: greeting cards, business cards, RSVPs, etc. Despite hundreds of years of technological achievement and advancement, we still rely on good ol’ paper and pen to get a message across.
