<\/p>\nIt’s not often that I happen to be scrapbooking “in season”.<\/p>\n
Right now, I’m working on albums for both of my grandchildren and have come upon Christmas photos.<\/p>\n
Creative Memories’ holiday collections are seasonal items, and we won’t get our new holiday collection until later this fall.<\/p>\n
But no worries!\u00a0 Both our A Year to Remember Part 1 and A Year to Remember Part 2 paper packs contain a few sheets of red and green prints.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
For my first layout, I used paper from A Year to Remember Part 2.\u00a0 And with a few tools and cardstock, I was able to create my own Christmas embellishments.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
To make this page, you’ll need:<\/strong><\/p>\n Step 1:\u00a0 From green dot paper, cut two 3.5″ x 12″ pieces and adhere to tops of pages.<\/p>\n Step 2:\u00a0 From red print paper, cut two 6″ x 12″ pieces and adhere under the green dot pieces.<\/p>\n Step 3:\u00a0 From cranberry cardstock, cut two 2.5″ x 12″ pieces and adhere to bottoms of pages.<\/p>\n Step 4:\u00a0 From remaining green dot paper, cut two semi circles using the largest circle cutting pattern and the blue blade on the outside edge.\u00a0 Adhere pieces to bottoms of the red print pieces.<\/p>\n Step 5:\u00a0 From white cardstock, punch four borders using the original border maker with evergreen cartridge.\u00a0 Cut two 1\/4″\u00a0strips from evergreen cardstock.\u00a0 Line up evergreen borders as shown and adhere\u00a0evergreen strips in the centers.<\/p>\n Step 6:\u00a0 From white cardstock, cut two\u00a03.25″ wide\u00a0by 3″ high pieces.\u00a0 Notch\u00a0one end of each into a ribbon edge.\u00a0 Mat\u00a0the pieces with cranberry cardstock, add title and journaling.<\/p>\n Step 7.\u00a0 Mat photos with cranberry cardstock.<\/p>\n Step 8:\u00a0 To make poinsettias:\u00a0 Use the Maple Leaf Punch to punch three\u00a0maple leaves from red cardstock and two maple leaves from evergreen cardstock.\u00a0 Use the gold pen to color a wide border on the edges of the red pieces and to\u00a0draw veins on both the red and evergreen pieces.\u00a0 Assemble as shown using gemstone embellishments in the center.\u00a0 Repeat.<\/p>\n For my second layout, I used paper from our new Triumph Paper Pack.\u00a0 This pack contains several sheets of red prints.\u00a0 I created the border for this page using our Original Border Maker with our Button\u00a0cartridge and our new Ocean Waves cartridge.\u00a0 They’re upside down, but the red waves remind me of candy canes.<\/p>\n To make this layout, you’ll need:<\/strong><\/p>\n Step 1:\u00a0 To conserve paper, you may wish to cut out the centers of the red plaid paper using the 12-inch straight trimmer.\u00a0 Preserve a 1.5″ border of the plaid paper on each side.<\/p>\n Step 2:\u00a0 Cut black cardstock to 10.25″ x 10.25″ and adhere to plaid paper.<\/p>\n Step 3:\u00a0 Cut red dot paper to 10″ x 10″ and adhere to black squares.<\/p>\n Step 4:\u00a0 Cut two circles from cranberry cardstock using the smallest circle pattern and the\u00a0blue blade on the outside edge.\u00a0 Cut two circles from white carstock using the smallest circle pattern and the green blade on the outside edge.\u00a0 Adhere white circles to the cranberry circles.<\/p>\n Step 5:\u00a0 To make the borders:\u00a0 Cut two 1.5″ x 12″ cranberry strips.\u00a0 Cut two 1.25″ white strips and adhere to the cranberry strips.\u00a0 From black carstock, punch two button borders using\u00a0the original border maker.\u00a0 From cranberry cardstock, punch two ocean waves borders using the original border maker.\u00a0 Assemble all pieces as shown.<\/p>\n Step 6:\u00a0 Mat photos with black cardstock. <\/p>\n Merry Christmas in July! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" It’s not often that I happen to be scrapbooking “in season”.
