Finding Community One Memory at a Time: Meet Meredith

Meredith Wiens didn’t set out to become a Creative Memories Advisor. She simply wanted to share something she loved with friends.

Back in 2004, Meredith hosted her very first Creative Memories class. As she chatted with friends, demonstrated products and answered questions, something clicked. She realized she wasn’t just sharing products. She was helping people preserve the moments that mattered most.

“At the first home party/class I hosted back in 2004, the light bulb went on as I was helping, explaining and showing products to my friends…and selling without realizing it. I decided I may as well be earning the commission and access to all the fun perks!”

More than two decades later, Meredith is still sharing that same passion, but ask her what keeps her inspired and she won’t start with paper or tools. She starts with the memories.

Every Photo Tells a Story

For Meredith, memory keeping is about so much more than creating beautiful pages. It’s about revisiting the moments that have shaped her life and making sure those stories aren’t forgotten.

“The memories! Reliving life highlights through photos brings me JOY. Photos have the power to bring us back in time. Scrapbooking preserves stories and history for generations to come.”

It’s a reminder that while photographs capture a moment, the stories we write alongside them are what help preserve our family history for future generations.

The Community She Never Expected

For Meredith, one of the most rewarding parts of being a Creative Memories Advisor has been the friendships she’s built along the way.

Over the years, crop weekends, classes and events have introduced Meredith to countless people who started as customers and quickly became friends. In fact, there have been so many meaningful connections that it’s become difficult to remember exactly how some friendships began.

“Community and friendships created through scrapbooking events. Friends, photos, food, fun and laughter…what can top that?! So many friends and connections. Occasionally someone will ask how I know someone, and I often have no idea. With all the friendmers (customers turned friends) and referrals, it’s hard to keep track of the first time I met someone.”

Those moments have become some of Meredith’s favorite memories, too. They’re the reason so many customers have become what she affectionately calls “friendmers.”

Creating a Legacy

When asked what she hopes her family experiences as they flip through the albums she’s created, Meredith’s answer reaches far beyond the pages.

“My goal is that the joy and love will be so evident in the photos and pages that smiles will abound as they re-live our experiences. May they know how much I cared about them and, most importantly, may our legacy of faith in Jesus be grasped by each generation to come. I hope they are inspired to continue investing the time and energy into creating memories…and then documenting them.”

Her albums aren’t simply collections of photographs. They’re gifts of love, reminders of shared experiences and windows into the people and moments that matter most.

What Being an Advisor Means to Meredith

After more than 20 years as a Creative Memories Advisor, Meredith’s “why” is as clear today as it was at that very first home party.

“To me, being an Advisor means…sharing my love of photos and memories with friends old and new while providing croportunities (and shoportunities!) for laughter and friendships to flourish.”

Stories like Meredith’s are at the heart of the Creative Memories community. Advisors don’t just share products and techniques. They create spaces where people can connect, celebrate their memories and enjoy the process together.

Thank you, Meredith, for sharing your story with us.
