Where are my images stored on my computer?
Memory Manager stores all your images and albums in your Memory Vault. To find the location of this vault, click on the menu option Manage your Memory Vault. The Windows folder that contains your vault is shown on the second line.

Inside this folder is another folder called Items. This folder contains 64 folders labeled 00 through 63. All images and albums are stored in one of these folders.

Do not attempt to modify the files in your Memory Vault directly. You can easily damage the vault. Use the export function of the application if you want to make copies of these files.

In most cases, the Memory Manager set-up program will run when you insert the Memory Manager CD into your CD drive. If this does not happen, you will have to run the setup program manually.

The set-up program is called AUTORUN.EXE and is located in the root directory of the setup CD. To run this program manually, perform the following steps:
1. Click the Start button on the Windows taskbar.

How often should I backup my Memory Vault?
You may backup your Memory Vault as often as you wish. The actual frequency is up to you, the user, and depends on how much risk you are willing to take in terms of losing images. Memory Manager can be configured to periodically remind you to backup your Memory Vault.

What are TIFF and JPEG files?
TIFF (or TIF) and JPEG (or JPG) are the two most common standards for storing digital images in files. Nearly every digital camera can create JPEG files, while many high-end cameras also create TIFF files. TIFF files are usually much larger because they don’t compress the images. JPEG files can be smaller, but by compressing the data some information is lost. However, for images used to make 4x6 prints, the difference is often nearly impossible to detect.
